The holiday weekend is in full swing and unfortunately Miami is not my cup of tea. I'm sure most of the locals will agree with me that Miami becomes"super ghetto bro" so most of us just leave. I would describe it as a bunch of birds flocking together when a big tornado comes. Nothing against Jim Jones, Uncle Luke, or Gucci mane, but for some reason it attracts the wrong crowd. So here is my list of things to do this Memorial Weekend (for the locals)
1. Bimini- Did you know that Ernest Hemingway lived on this small island from 1935-1937. On "Islands of The Stream" he sums it up as Swim, eat, drink, work, read, talk, read fish, fish, swim, drink sleep. The Miami locals will sum it up as : Regatta, drink, regatta, drink, drink, drink regatta, drink, try to eat, pass out.
2. Islamorada "Florida Keys" - Another party on the water! I Really love going to the keys it always brings back such amazing memories! There will also be a Full moon party Saturday, May 25th, 2013 at Morada Bay
3. Take a weekend Vacation- Vegas, Dominican Republic, Bahamas, Hawaii, San Diego, I can go on and on! Check out Travel Zoo for some last minute deals.
4. "Catch a Flick"- Note: NOT IN THE BEACH! I would go see Mr. 305 himself "Pitbull" in the movie Epic which is in theaters May 24. Pitbull plays a toad named Bufo who always fights for what is right. Sounds like it's going to be Epic to me! Check out Video Trailer here -> Pitbull talks about his role as Bufo in EPIC
5. Stay in!- I know very boring, but if you are in Miami my tip for you is to just stay in. Clean your closet, shop online, and save yourself from the drama.
There you have it! How to survive Memorial Day Weekend or as my mom would say the weekend the crazy people come out! Now hurry up and leave Miami!

Hotwheels Back in the days
Remember Friday nights at Hotwheels?? . If you were like me and weren't a professional skater you would just dance in the middle to Debbie Deb's "When I hear music". To this day every time I hear that song it reminds me of the good old days. Tennis skirts and jerseys Yup! That was me! Oh and I forgot to mention Grant Hill Filas, talk about blast from the past.I might have been a little "chongaliscious" But this is what has made me who I am today. Of course I have grown out of that stage, but I kind of wish I can go back at times and just relive that moment. It was so much fun! I really think my generation has some excellent social skills because of it. We weren’t so dependent on Ipads or video games. We would meet up at the mall, go to hot wheels, and just interact with more people. We were smart, savvy, witty, and most of all we were street smart. We've been around the block or as I say "around the ring and back to the middle. If you want to take a ride down memory lane you can still head out to what is now called SuperWheels . As the saying goes "Remember where you came from appreciate where you are and focus on where your going" It's nice to take a break from the hustle and remember our childhood so take a break and do something crazy that you used to love!
